Roswell Reads, in partnership with the Roswell Library, Friends of the Roswell Library and Bookmiser, will present a February family event unlike anything in the one city-one read program’s 21-year history.
Share the Love of Reading, inspired by longtime Roswell Reads volunteer and children’s book enthusiast, the late Darla McKenzie and her husband, Michael McKenzie, will feature crafts as well as free hardcover books for the first 100 families.
Targeting children in kindergarten through fourth grade, but welcoming all, Share the Love of Reading will debut Feb. 7 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Roswell Public Library, 115 Norcross St.
This year’s fun and activity-filled festivities will showcase award-winning local children’s author and entertainer Danny Schnitzlein and his book, “Gnu and Shrew,” named one of the best STEM books in 2021 by the National Science Teaching Association.
Schnitzlein will be reading from his books and offering drawing lessons. No registration is required, but attendance is limited to 200.
